About Anudeep Durishetty
Anudeep hails from a town named Chittapur in Telangana, India. He was born on 6th July 1989. He completed his schooling at Sri Sarvodaya high school and Sri Chaitanya junior college. In 2011 he then persuaded B. tech in electronics and instrumentation from BITS Pilani, Rajasthan.
Love for UPSC sprouted within him during his college days. In his maiden attempt at UPSC civil services exam, he was not able to pass the personality test on his first attempt. After this, he joined Google as a software engineer.
He used to juggle his full-time job and IAS preparation, which was very challenging for him. The fire and hunger for victory were still burning within him. He balanced his full-day job and his preparation.
He used to study on weekends and did not prefer to join any coaching institute, he was dependent on the Internet for his studies. Self-study and consistency were his major weapons during his preparation.
His optional subject was Anthropology because he loved to study the history and evolution of mankind.
In 2013 he was shortlisted for the Indian Revenue Service. Though he was appointed as Assistant Commissioner (customs and indirect taxes) in Hyderabad, the hunger within him was not satisfied so he continued his grind.
In 2017 his hard work paid off and he was declared as the topper of the UPSC exam, it was his 5th and final attempt.
He gives credit for his success to his family and senior officer in revenue service. he said, “My family has been my backbone and if I did not have their support, I would not have been able to top the examinations.”
