Jyothi Mehta’s Husband, Harshad Mehta
Harshad Mehta is popularly known as the big bull of the Indian stock market. He was born on 29 July 1954. His net worth was estimated to be around 3542 crore INR. He is the husband of Jyothi Mehta and the father of Atur Mehta. By profession, he was Businessman and stockbroker.
He got infamous by the name of market manipulator because of his involvement in the 1992 Indian Securities Scam. 27 criminal charges were brought against Harshad out of which he was only convicted of four. An estimate of Rs. 5000 crore was involved in this scam, making it the largest money market scam in Indian history.
At the age of 47 in 2001 he lost his life due to a sudden cardiac arrest in police custody.

Jyothi Mehta’s Struggles After The Scam 1992
Beings married to Harshad Mehta, Jyothi was living a happy life until her husband was sent behind the bars for 5 years because of the securities scam of 1992. Her life took a tumble when her husband lost his life due to a sudden heart attack in police custody.
When Harshad was in jail his brother, Ashwin was appointed to act as Harshad’s legal representative, he fought many cases on his brother’s behalf in order to clear his brother’s name. Jyothi was also struggling during this time because of her husband’s case, financial bearings, and the pressure of raising her son Atur.
After the death of her husband, the situation became even worse. She had to raise her son alone and she was also fighting a legal battle to achieve money that her husband has right over. Harshad’s family was in a legal battle for almost 27 years and finally, in 2019.
The tax Appellate Tribunal scrapped almost the whole tax demand of quite ₹2000 crore after 27 years that was on Harshad, his wife, Jyoti, and his brother, Ashwin Mehta. And in the same year, she also won the case against a stockbroker Kishore Janani and a federal bank, who owned about six crore rupees to Harshad Mehta. Jyothi won the case and claimed that money with 18% interest. Mehta’s family was freed from all allegations in February 2019.
After that, not too little is known about Harshad’s family. Some reports claim that Jyothi and Atur settled in the USA and Harshad Mehta’s son Atur is also a stockbroker. Though these reports have no evidence to be proved right, they are generally considered mere rumors.
